HI, I'M YURI TOMEK

AND THIS IS MY JOURNEY

I’m originally from Slovakia, and movement has always been a big part of my life. I started with gymnastics as a kid, then moved into karate — but it wasn’t until I discovered kickboxing that I really fell in love with contact sports. I competed for a few years and even snagged second and third place in the Slovakian Kickboxing Championships two years running.

 

After finishing university, I packed my bags and moved to London. Like most people who move to a big city, I didn’t jump straight into my dream career. But a couple of years in, I found my true passion in fitness — and I’ve never looked back.

 

I’ve been working as a personal trainer since 2013, helping over a hundred people on their health and fitness journeys. Over the years, I’ve witnessed incredible transformations — not just in physiques, but in confidence, energy, and outlook on life. One of my proudest moments? A client once called me her “mentor.” That meant the world to me. This isn’t just about workouts — it’s about inspiring real change and showing people what they’re truly capable of.

One of my own mentors told me something that stuck:
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” That’s been my guiding principle ever since. I’ve built long-lasting relationships with clients — many who’ve stayed with me for years — because I care deeply about their progress and their well-being.

What I Do Now

​

About two years ago, I completely shifted how I train myself and my clients. I now follow the Functional Patterns (FP) methodology — a system developed by Naudi Aguilar — which focuses entirely on optimising human biomechanics.

​

FP is built around the four fundamental human movements: standing, walking, running, and throwing. Instead of isolating muscles or chasing max lifts, I train the body as a connected system designed to move efficiently and pain-free.

​

Through corrective, dynamic exercises, I help address the root causes of dysfunction, improve posture, reduce chronic pain, and enhance overall movement quality. This isn’t just training — it’s rewiring how your body functions so you can live longer, move better, and feel your best every day.
